9th Annual Grgich Hills Estate Wine Dinner at Varanese

Varanese offers their 9th annual Grgich Hills Estate wine dinner on January 23 and 24 with special guest speaker Sean Barrett. Reception for both evenings is at 6:30 p.m. with dinner starting at 7. 1st Course: Fume Blanc, grilled octopus with fermented soy bean-pear sauce, scallions and miso cracker

2nd Course: Chardonnay, Cold Smoked Triple Cream Brie with Mango-Walnut Crumble, mixed baby greens and chardonnay vinaigrette


3rd Course: Merlot,  duck confit and house-made fettuccini tossed with wild mushrooms and dried cherries in a basil pesto sauce

4th Course: Cabernet, Dry Aged Strip Steak served over Gorgonzola smashed red skin potatoes and butter poached broccolini. Finished with a brandy and green peppercorn sauce

5th Course: Zinfandel, Espresso roll with a cashew and honey glaze served with a raspberry-zinfandel ice cream
