Louisville bake sale funds scholarships for culinary school and helps connect local farms to schools and restaurants

You can again support the Kentucky chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier (LDEIKY) while feeding your love of baked goods during their third annual bake sale at Ramsi’s Café on the World, 1293 Bardstown Rd. on Saturday, Dec. 2. from 1 to 5 p.m. (or until sold out, which has happened within the first few hours in previous years.)

The LDEIKY scholarship fund helps culinary students and Green Table, an initiative connecting urban and rural farms to schools and restaurants. They hope to out raise last year’s fundraiser, which funded two scholarships totaling $5,000 for two Sullivan University graduates.

Shoppers can expect to pay $6 and up for homemade cookies, breads, cakes, cupcakes, muffins, scones, pies, and much more from local celebrated chefs, skilled bakers, and LDEIKY members. Then, join in the fun along the rest of Bardstown Rd. for the 32nd annual Bardstown Road Aglow.

Donated baked goods will come from Brasserie Provence; Decca; 8UP; Anoosh Bistro; Cake Flour and The Bakery at Sullivan University. Students from the National Center for Hospitality Studies at Sullivan University will collect and package all of the donated goods.
