Limitless pork tacos … a Mexican-food/hog lover’s dream? … bait to lure Elvis out of hiding? … or a reality made manifest this Saturday at Taco Punk?

Thanks to Taco Punk, it’s the latter, and the feast will coincide with this year’s summer solstice, which means the evening could be a long one.
According to its Facebook page, the event starts at 6 p.m. (dinner at 7) and for $20, you can eat hog tacos and sides to your belly’s content (or your heart and colon’s discontent, whichever comes first).

Taco Punk chef-owner Gabe Sowder told Insider Louisville that the ticketed event is limited to 100 diners, so you may consider ordering yours online to ensure you get your place at the trough. Call 584-TACO or buy them at the restaurant (736 E. Market St.)

Some more details: Apps, to be served prior to dinner, include scratch guacamole, salsa and chips. The hog will be rubbed with achiote, chilis and other herbs, wrapped in bourbon-soaked banana leaves and roasted.

Sides include refried beans, chili spiked kale, spiced sweet potatoes, cordito (spicy fermented cabbage) and Amish Collective Tomato Salad with marinated canela cheese, toasted pumpkin seeds and oregano vinaigrette. Expect watermelon for dessert. Drinkin’ includes West 6th IPA and Amber Ale on tap, and assorted soft drinks.

Music will be provided Dozens of Dollars, a great Bluegrass string band.
