Advanced class in Bourbon-ology

The rest of the world continues to discover what Kentuckians knew all along—that Bourbon is a very fine drink indeed.  And it is always fun to take advanced knowledge of Bourbon with you to parties here and elsewhere.

Moonshine University is offering another chance to deepen your understanding of the great American spirit with a course called “Craft to Cocktail: An Artisan Experience” Friday, May 16 at 7 p.m.

Distillers from the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour will discuss the fine points of creating luscious cocktails with bourbon as a base, and guests can sample said cocktails, wash down hors d’oeuvres and try their hand at designing their own custom cocktail mixer at the Flavorman beverage lab next door.

The event, held at the Distilled Spirits Epicenter, 801 S. 8th St.,will be part of the Kentucky Bourbon Affair, a four-day extravaganza (about which, more later).   The “Craft to Cocktail” event is $100 per person and limited to 100 people. To buy a ticket, visit kybourbonaffair.com.
