Craft House, the all-local beer pub and restaurant that has been a successful idea in Crescent Hill, at 2636 Frankfort Ave. has announced plans to open a second location in Germantown, at 1030 Goss Ave.

Pat Hagan, owner of Bluegrass Brewing Co. in St, Matthews, pioneered the idea of a pub serving a variety of beers all made by local breweries last year, when he opened Craft House in the space that for many years was Dark Star Tavern.

The Germantown site is currently an office building, the corporate offices of Underhill Associates, who have sold the building to Hagan’s company, Craft House LLC. The site will require extensive renovation. Initial plans released show an A-frame glass facade, with a large outdoor deck facing Goss Ave.

The site is near several other Germantown restaurants and pubs, and just down the street a bit from Underhill’s ongoing extensive renovation of the old Germantown Mills building into loft apartments.

Plans recently announced in Insider Louisville propose up to 50 beer taps pouring all locally-made beers (including those from breweries in southern Indiana), craft cocktails, bar food and a brunch menu.

If all goes according to plan, Hagan hopes to open the new Craft House by the summer of 2016.
