Crestwood Farm Fest celebrates Kentucky small farm culture

For two days, Saturday and Sunday, July 11 and 12, the Kentucky Farm Fest, will be held on the 20 acre farm “The Maples” in Crestwood. The festival will offer workshops on food and flower gardening, organic farming practices, conservation, raising and caring for animals, and cooking with fresh ingredients,  including how to cook with bourbon and how to cook with alternative meats like goat and alpaca.

There will be an on-site Farm and Foodie market featuring growers and producers from around the state. Workshops will be conducted by experts from University of Kentucky, Kentucky State University, Eastern Kentucky University and farmers themselves.

Fee pony rides will be offered on Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission will be $5, with children 12 years old and younger free.

Kentucky Farm Fest will be at 6826 W. Highway 22, Crestwood, KY 40014. There is no parking on the festival grounds, but parking is less than 2 miles from the festival and free shuttles will run constantly to and from the designated parking lots.
