F&D reported previously of the reopening of Old Louisville Tavern, 1532 S 4th St., but inevitable construction delays have prolonged the actual event. Now the popular eating and drinking establishment on the edge of the U of L campus is finally set to open t the end of April.
The Tavern has been closed since an arson fire in 2014 gutted the building. The problems that have delayed rebuilding work have been overcome, and owner Scott Lukemire is eager to be operating again.
Lukemire plans to reinstate the popular Taco Tuesdays, Trivia Nights, and karaoke on Saturday nights. The renovations of the space will increase capacity to about 100. There will also be seating on the patio.
Hiring for line cooks, prep cooks, bartenders, servers and bussers is progressing. When the official opening date is announced, we will announce it here.
