Cahoots, the recently-troubled bar and restaurant space at 1047 Bardstown Rd., has now become Nirvana, an Indian-American restaurant which opened last week after some renovations of the building.
Nirvana is operated by the same family that runs Kashmir Indian Restaurant a bit further up Bardstown Rd. Nirvana will serve dinner and have live music daily. The business will be open from 4 p.m.-4 a.m., with a menu of Indian-American fusion dishes like masala fries, naan pizza and masala chicken wings served until 11 p.m.
Plans for the restaurant have been underway since January. The building has been thoroughly renovated, including the addition of a stage and dance floor.
The building remains vivid in the minds of many as Tewligans, a music venue that was the incubator of many local bands in the 1980s and ‘90s.
