Louisville continues to get notice in “best” lists compiled by one promotional group or another. This time it is the World Food Travel Association that has named Louisville the top contender in the category of “Best Destination Experience.”

Louisville was awarded the grand prize honor for excellence in food and beverage tourism, citing the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau for promoting the Urban Bourbon Trail and marketing the city’s other bourbon-based tourism business.

The World Food Travel Association is a nonprofit that studies food and beverage tourism, giving cities awards for best “experiences” in five categories: ”Best Food Service Experience”, “Best Tour Operations”, “Best Beer Experience”, and “Best Wine Experience”, as well as Louisville’s winning category, “Best Destination Experience.”  Winners in those categories included Barcelona and Istanbul; inclusion with those places is something to crow about.
