New menus at Asiatique and Brasserie Provence

With the fall weather comes new menu ideas from many restaurants. Two such restaurants undergoing seasonal change that have come to our attention are Asiatique, 1767 Bardstown Rd., and Brasserie Provence, 150 N. Hurstbourne Pkwy. Asiatique has tweaked its pan-Asian small plates and shareable plates menu extensively. Brasserie Provence has added some new twists on its French provincial menu and returned to the menu some old favorites.

The new dinner menu at Brasserie Provence includes seafood risotto; a red ruby trout with white wine caper butter sauce, herb roasted fingerling potatoes and haricots verts; a braised beef cheek with polenta, roasted root vegetables and gremolata; French-cut chicken breast with truffle butter and tagliatelle pasta served Niçoise-style with roasted peppers, onions and olives in a cream sauce; Scottish salmon prepared à la Rhône Valley with braised fennel, Camargue rice and a tarragon mushroom velouté; and the return of duck magret with lentils du Puy, artichoke Barigoule and Picholine olive thyme sauce. Cassoulet also returns as the Thursday plat du jour, along with coq au vin on Wednesdays. Call (502) 883-3153 or go towww.brasserieprovence.com

Asiatique calls its appetizer selection “share plates,” to encourage choosing more than one and giving everyone a taste or two. Among those shareable selections are a braised beef tongue with mint and Parmesan cheese, pork gyoza with Chinese black vinegar, Chinese 5-spice shrimp with curried chick peas, massaman curry mussels, a salmon quesadilla with Asian salsa, a duck nacho and a tea egg served with radish kim chee.

A soft shell crab salad and a portobello mushroom salad have been added, as well. New large plates are wok shrimp and scallops with basil sauce and hot oil, four choices of ramen noodles and three kinds of soft Chinese stuffed buns.

Asiatique’s number is (502) 451-2749.
