The Omni Hotel’s construction proceeds apace – and is even reported to be ahead of schedule. So the time has come for it to start making plans for what happens next. And one of those next things is planning for the hotel’s restaurants. The Dallas-based hotel chain has turned to those it knows, and has announced that two Texas-based restaurants will open Louisville branches in the hotel when it opens next year.

According to a story in the Courier-Journal Bob’s Steak & Chop House will be one of the upscale offerings, and another Dallas-based chain called Neighborhood Services, run by the “renowned” chef Nick Badovinus. will offer a more varied, more moderately-priced menu.

The steaks on the on-line menu from Bob’s Steak & Chop House that I saw posted run from $39 to $57, and are served with a potato choice and a vegetable side. Bob’s offers a range of appetizers and salads, of course, and also a selection of seafood dishes, such as crab cakes, shrimp scampi and broiled salmon.

The menus available on-line for the somewhat oddly-named Neighborhood Services include items such as seviche and crudo, tortilla soup, flatbreads, wedge salad, fish and chips, burgers, steak and pork chops. The menu I saw also listed “Nightly Plates” such as meatloaf, chicken piccata and beef bourguignon. Entree prices are in the high teens and twenties.

The hotel and amenities are shooting for a March 2018 opening.
