Quaff on down to the 11th Annual Fest of Ale tomorrow

Fest of Ale, a Crusade for Children fundraiser sponsored by Keg Liquors in Clarksville and New Albany, will take place tomorrow, Saturday, June 4 from 3-7 p.m. at the Riverfront Amphitheater in downtown New Albany, Ind.

Last year more than1,500 Kentuckiana beer lovers gathered to sample craft beers from around the world, socialize with friends, and raise more than $14,000 for the WHAS Crusade for Children.

Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the gate on the day of the event. Advance tickets are available through Keg Liquors, at 617 E. Lewis & Clark Pkwy. in Clarksville or at 4304 Charlestown Rd. in New Albany, or online at www.kegliquors.com.

The Fest of Ale will feature over 250 craft and import beers from more than 100 breweries. There will be a “House of Hops” for lovers of hoppy beers, and a  “Sour Shack” area, where participants can sample wild ales that are rarely available.  There will even be participation by wineries, for devotees of the vine rather than hops.

The Fest of Ale had been located at St. Anthony’s Padua Catholic Church, but the popularity of the event necessitated a larger venue. The New Albany Riverfront Amphitheater, which affords better parking, and is within walking distance of shops, restaurants and bars.
