Red Herring Cocktail Lounge & Kitchen, 1757 Frankfort Ave., has added the Red Herring Coffee Lounge & Roastery, which is, essentially that same space, but open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. During this time, the offerings will be coffee, tea, and fresh-squeezed juices, made-from-scratch pastries and breakfast sandwiches. Coffee will be served in both “PG” and “XXX” concoctions; that is, without or with a bit of early-in-the-day alcoholic pick-you-up.

As to be expected, when alcohol is added to the coffee, the result will be called a “coffee-tail.” Such choices will be things like a “Cold-fashioned” a cold-brew Negroni with Campari, gin and cold-brewed coffee.

At 4 p.m. the usual evening menu of cocktails and savory and sweet bar bites will begin service.

In a press release, co-owner Brett Davis said, “We always intended for our beautiful and storied space to be enjoyed nearly 24 hours a day. Now that our guests have learned to love our classic cocktails and unique dishes in the evening, we are ready to expand with coffee and pastries during the day. This gorgeous building lends itself perfectly for both a morning meeting and night out with friends and now so do our menus.”
