It has been reported that Susan Seiller closed her River Road restaurant Relish Wednesday, April 9, after the lunch service

Citing costs and other problems that made her “business model” with the restaurant no longer tenable.

Relish opened in late 2012, first as a lunch and take-out operation, and soon added dinner service, but the restaurant obtained a liquor license only recently, and a limited one, that did not permit a bar, because she did not have the requisite minimum number of seats.

Overhead costs such as energy, and the limited parking at the site were cited as other reasons for the inability of Relish to return a viable profit.  As word spread of the closing, lunch service on the last day was crowded enough for Seiller to end her most recent run in the restaurant world satisfied that her idea was a good one.

Seiller did not comment on any future restaurant plans.
