Boy, is it nice sometimes to go out and have someone else make Thanksgiving dinner! Here are some of the places we know right now are serving dinner on Thanksgiving. As we learn more, we will add to this list.
The new restaurant Butchertown Grocery, 1076 E. Washington St., will be open this Thanksgiving 11 a.m.- 9 p.m. with a family-style menu. Chef Bobby Benjamin’s holiday dinner will include smoked rotisserie turkey, pork belly-wrapped stuffed pork loin with pork pate, cornbread dressing or bacon-mushroom dressing, broccolini with calabrese peppers, Brussels sprouts with cranberries and pine nuts, glazed root vegetables with herbs, sweet potato gnocchi with brown butter and sage, mashed potatoes with roasted garlic and chives, mac and cheese with 3 Cheddars, dinner rolls, Valrhona chocolate cream pie with hazelnut crust and pumpkin pie.

The Brown Hotel
Diners have two options at the Brown Hotel, 335 W .Broadway
At The English Grill, a formal dining service will offer a buffet of salads, soups and charcuterie, with the main course served at the table. The menu will offer a choice of beef tenderloin with Bordelaise sauce, seared diver scallops with country ham, or roasted turkey with giblet gravy with family-style sides of bourbon-glazed carrots, brioche and Stilton stuffing, and Yukon Gold pomme purée. Dessert choices include buttermilk bourbon cream pie, flourless chocolate cake or sorghum pecan pie.
Reservations are available at 12:30, 12:45, 1, 3:30, 3:45 and 4 p.m. The cost of the English Grill dinner will be $64, or $20 for children ages 4 to 12 years old. Call (502)736-2996.
Downstairs at J. Graham’s Cafe a casual buffet will include autumn minestrone soup, seasonal salads, bourbon-smoked salmon, pickled vegetables and assorted cheeses for starters. Main course choices will be citrus-herb roasted turkey, maple-pineapple glazed Kentucky ham or seared Atlantic salmon, with sides of green bean casserole and fig and apple stuffing. Pumpkin pie with Chantilly cream is among the dessert choices.
Seatings are 1:30-11:45 a.m. and 1:15-1:30 p.m. The cost of the J. Graham’s dinner will be $40, or $17 for children ages 3 to 12 years old. Call (502) 583-1234 ext. 7225. Children younger than four eat for free at both dinners.
Bristol Bar & Grille, Highlands, East, Prospect and Jeffersonville locations
The Bristol Bar & Grille at four locations – Bardstown Rd., N. Hurstbourne Pkwy., Prospect and Jeffersonville – will serve a Thanksgiving buffet from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., except the Highlands location which will be open 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The traditional meal will include turkey with stuffing, sweet potatoes, vegetables, pumpkin pie and more, with locally-sourced ingredients. Cost is $25.95 for adults, and $7.95 for children ages 4 to 11. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Reservations can be made by calling each respective restaurant:
