Norton Commons announced Friday that the northeast Louisville community will host its second annual “restaurant week” Monday, January 22 through Sunday, January 28. Eight restaurants will offer patrons three-course dinner menus including appetizer, entrée, and dessert from $15, $20, and $25.
The restaurant scene in Norton Commons out near Crestwood has been growing fast in the last year or so. 502 Bar & Bistro has been in the works for a while, and this week the staff has started to work out any last minute kinks with a soft opening for friends and family. Tonight, Thursday, July 21, the restaurant at 10401 Meeting St., Prospect, will open to the public beginning at 4 p.m.as part of the soft opening workouts, but the grand opening is set for Monday, July 25. Fernando Martinez and his OLÉ Restaurant Group open their newest restaurant today at 10640 Meeting St. in Norton Commons. The two-level space will have, on the first floor, a full bar, restaurant and small marketplace stocking mostly Italian specialty items such as charcuterie, meatballs, cheeses, olive oil, bread and fresh pasta, beer, Italian wine and liquor. Citizen 7, an upscale taco joint, is slated to open next week at 10715 Meeting St. in Norton Commons. Allen Rosenberg is the consulting chef who helped devise the pan-Caribbean menu, which will offer fusion cuisine influenced by Mexico, South America and the West Indies. Kentucky’s first bourbon-themed bed and breakfast, dubbed Chateau Bourbon, 10630 Meeting St. in Norton Commons, will open on Repeal Weekend, Dec. 5, for free tours, and then for regular business.
Co-owners Missy and John Hillock will offer four suites that will sleep up to 10 guests, breakfasts featuring dishes like bourbon syrup-covered pancakes or biscuits with blueberry-bourbon compote, specialty cocktails and related events between trips to distilleries.
