Just in time for their two-year anniversary, gourmet frozen treat shop Steel City Pops has partnered with Quills Coffee to open a Saint Matthews coffee and pop shop at 117 St. Matthews Ave. Steel City Pops posted to their Instagram account last night, saying the location is “ SO CLOSE,” directing people to their blog for more info.
Saturday, Oct. 28, from 3-6 p.m., Ballotin Chocolate Whiskey is sponsoring a special chocolate tasting event in Louisville and Lexington at the Springhurst Liquor Barn, 4301 Town Center Drive, and the Hamburg Liquor Barn in Lexington. Ballotin has invited West 6th Brewing, Old 502 Winery, Rabbit Hole Distilling, Cellar Door Chocolates, Hi-Five Doughnuts, Steel City Pops, Chateau Bourbon and Bourbon Women to showcase the many ways chocolate influences, flavors, and defines some favorite local products and brands. So far the weather has not been all that accommodating for the new Highlands business, Steel City Pops, which opened last week at 1021 Bardstown Rd., the site of the now defunct Wild and Wooly Video.
