Chef Edward Lee’s newest concept Whiskey Dry opens today on 4th St. Live! He said this bar has been two years in the making, and a lot of thought went into expanding the discussion from the obviously popular bourbon to a discussion about the world of whiskey.
It was announced yesterday that Chef Edward Lee’s awaited third Louisville, KY restaurant, Whiskey Dry will open on February 10, 2018. The restaurant is Lee’s vision for his ideal bar, with a menu of creative and chef driven burgers and shareable comfort food paired with over 200 whiskeys from around the world. Whiskey Dry will debut at Fourth Street Live!, a dining and entertainment district on Fourth St. between Muhammad Ali and Liberty St. Whiskey Dry will be open seven-days-a-week from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. (The bar will be open until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.) Last week, we passed along the announcement of a local female chef and a beverage director being chosen for the first all-female advisory council at Atlanta Food and Wine festival. In the same day, we received the announcement that Chef Edward Lee (chef/owner of 610 Magnolia, The Wine Studio, MilkWood, and Whiskey Dry in Louisville, KY and culinary director for Succotash in National Harbor, MD and forthcoming in DC) and Lindsey Ofcacek (general manager and wine director of 610 Magnolia) have launched a program titled the LEE initiative, which will advance women in restaurants by awarding impressive grants with travel, education and opportunities to five Kentucky women in the culinary industry.
There is a lot of Ed Lee news in recent weeks. Restaurateur Edward Lee, of 610 Magnolia and Milkwood renown locally, in addition to opening soon Whiskey Dry at Fourth St. Live!, is planning a second restaurant in the Washington, D.C. area, has bottled for retail sale his own recipe hot sauce, gained mention in a national publication for 610’s wine list, and will be a judge on a new cooking shown this fall. Chef and restaurateur Edward Lee, who operates Milkwood and 610 Magnolia in Louisville and Succotash in Washington, D.C., is planning another restaurant, a casual dining spot, at Fourth Street Live.
