Varanese beer dinner to feature Against the Grain brews

Tuesday, August 12, 6:30 p.m., Varanese, Frankfort Ave., will host a 4-course dinner pairing special dishes with a variety of beers concocted by Against the Grain Brewery, 401 E. Main St.  Brewery Owner and General Manager Andrew Ott will be on hand discuss the pairings and how they enhance the meal.

At the reception, Brettish Bulldog Old Ale with be served.  The first course beer will be Bay and Pepper your Bretts Saison Ale, to accompany Low Country beer boil with shrimp, corn on the cob and house-made sausage. 

The second course will be flat bread topped with slow-roasted Pork, smoked Gouda creamy slaw and Carolina BBQ, paired with ATG’s Citra Ass Down Double IPA. The main course will be beer-braised short rib and seasonal vegetables, served with 35k Milk Stout.

Dessert will be a chocolate and caramel cookie bar,  paired with The Brown Note American Brown Ale.
