Culinary school isn’t inexpensive. Not only does it require an incredible amount of dedication to achieve a culinary degree, the cost of obtaining one sometimes is daunting for those eager to work in the restaurant, hotel and hospitality field.

Seeking to raise funds to help offset that cost, Winston’s Restaurant is hosting a Celebrity Chef Scholarship Dinner on Jan. 23. Guest chef Dean Corbett (owner of Corbett’s: An American Place, Equus and Jack’s Lounge) will join David Moeller, chef-instructor at Sullivan University’s School of Hospitality, to prepare a six-course meal paired with wines.

The evening begins at 6:30 with a champagne cocktail and passed hors d’oeuvre. Dinner follows at 7.

Guests will have the opportunity to meet both chefs (incidentally, Corbett and Moeller are both Grisanti Co. alumnus) who will be on hand to discuss their dishes.

The evening will culminate in a scholarship awarded to a culinary arts student, whom patrons will be able to meet and congratulate after the dinner.

Cool, huh? You get to eat a fantastic meal (and if you’ve never been, Winston’s is really good), help a worthy student and see where whom your money is helping all in the same night.

Tickets are $100 per person and are tax deductible. To make your reservation, do so online or by phone at 502-456-0980.
